Man accuses Todd Judy Ford of misrepresentation

Adobe Stock CHARLESTON A Logan County man is suing a car dealership alleging that it misrepresented a vehicle to him and failed to provide him the opportunity to review important documents. Transportation Network III LLC and Santander Consumer USA were named as defendants in the suit. Transportation is doing business as Todd Judy Ford East. Leslie Adkins was referred to Donny Pitts with Todd Judy regarding auto financing in 2018. Pitts was told Adkins and his wife could not afford a payment over $300 per month, according to a complaint filed in Kanawha Circuit Court. Adkins claims they eventually decided on a 2014 Toyota Rav 4 and were told they would need to provide a $1,000 down and that the monthly payment would be around $380, however, they later discovered the monthly payment would be $468.24. He also later discovered the $1,000 down payment he provided was not fully placed on the vehicle.

Former employee sues Alford Home Solutions for racist comments

Pixabay CHARLESTON A 36-year-old Kanawha County man is suing Alford Home Solutions after he was subjected to racist comments during his employment. Dontay Adams began working as a laborer in November 2018 and his supervisor, Jacob Meador, made many inappropriate, racist comments throughout Adams employment, according to a complaint filed in Kanawha Circuit Court. Adams claims every time Meador made racist comments, he felt uncomfortable and targeted, but because Meador was the general manager s son, he was afraid of retaliation and did not complain about the comments. The plaintiff was informed on Jan. 21, 2019, that he would need to travel for a job in Parkersburg with Meador and another coworker and when he said he did not feel comfortable doing so and requested to either not go or travel and stay with other employees, he was told he could go or he would no longer work there.

Woman says Charleston physician caused her family member s death following gallbladder surgery

Pixabay CHARLESTON A woman is suing a Charleston physician for the death of her family member following surgery to remove her gallbladder. Lisa A. Purdue filed the lawsuit as the administratrix of the estate of Charlotte Gay Hylton against Dr. Mahmoud Hossino after Hylton was admitted to Charleston Area Medical Center on July 16, 2019, and underwent a laparoscopic cholecystectomy on July 24, 2019, according to a complaint filed in Kanawha Circuit Court. According to the complaint, Hossino failed to timely diagnose and treat Hylton for bleeding following the surgery. She suffered and ultimately died, the suit claims. Purdue claims Hossino was negligent and caused Hylton to sustain physical pain and suffering before her death; mental pain and suffering; loss of income; medical expenses; funeral and burial expenses and sorrow, mental anguish and solace.
