QUEZON City was recently recognized for its leadership in climate action, being just one of six cities worldwide to receive a $60,000 (P3.3 million) grant from the C40 Cities Inclusive Climate Action Cities Fund (ICA Fund) to support local-level climate initiatives. While the amount of the grant might seem rather modest given the enormous scale of the need for climate action, the recognition should inspire other local governments here in the Philippines to ramp up their own efforts toward climate adaptation and mitigation.
