The City Council Monday night gave its consensus to support a plan using federal stimulus funds to help develop downtown second floor lofts and businesses by paying for sprinkler systems and fire alarms.  Although the Great Bend City Council wanted additional details, it was the consensus of the council Monday night to earmark half of the $2 million in COVID-19 American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 funding the city will receive for subsiding sprinkler and fire alarm systems in downtown upstairs lofts and businesses.
