And as these protests continue on College Campuses, some High School Students in the east bay are also protesting the war in gaza are Charles Clifford has the story. Oakland on wednesday, hundreds of students walked out of class here at Oakland Technical High School to protest the war in costa. Now these students rallied outside of campus. On wednesday afternoon, they are upset about the conflict in gaza between hamas and israel. They are calling for a ceasefire. I talked to one of the organizers of this event. He says that theyve been watching whats happening at College Campuses across the country and that they wanted to show solidarity with those protests. We want to show solidarity with all the

Before there was ever a Grand Central station in new york city, there was a Grand Central depot that Cornelius Vanderbilt created as a terminal for his train lines in new york city. To this day theres a street that runs right up one side of Grand Central station thats called vanderbilt avenue. Thats named after him. And for years, for decades, on the other side of Grand Central station, on the other side of it from vanderbilt avenue, there was another monument to vanderbilt that didnt use his last name. It used his nickname. The nickname that everybody used for Cornelius Vanderbilt was the commodore. Commodore is a high rank in the navy. Cornelius vanderbilt never served in the navy, but apparently he got the nickname of the commodore in his days as a kid running those Ferry Services in new york harbor. The other guys who worked the harbor along side him called him commodore basically as a way of teasing him, and it stuck. Then that kid who they mocked as the commodore grew up to amass
