The Boise National Forest has begun selling Christmas tree permits online, at Forest Service offices, and at several businesses throughout southwest Idaho. These permits allow for Christmas tree cutting on
JOHN DAY — Malheur National Forest firefighters resumed prescribed fire operations on the Blue Mountain Ranger District, with ignitions in Soda Bear units 9C and 9G Thursday, Oct. 19, and continuing through the weekend. Approximately 405 acres are planned for treatment.
These units are located southeast of Bear Valley along Forest Road 1619. Fire personnel monitored the units for several days after completion.
