Our Correspondents Kohima, Aug. 15 (EMN): Nagaland Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio on Monday stated that the state needs to grow much faster and broader, and create more employment opportunities for its youth, driven more by private enterprises. He, therefore, called upon all to build capacities and skills of the youth, to enable their inherent talent to blossom, in order to not only benefit but also contribute towards a faster economic growth and make Nagaland one of the most progressive states in the country. He said this in his address to the people of the state during the 75th Independence Day celebration at the Civil Secretariat Plaza, Kohima. He also hoisted the national flag on the occasion. KOHIMA: As the nation is set to embark on the celebration of 75 years of Independence, Nagaland has also ramped up its efforts in commemorating the day tomorrow.
The northeastern state will be commemorating the Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav tomorrow in a befitting manner. Several programmes have been lined up to mark the event.

‘Politics by gun’ has undermined efforts to resolve Naga issue, says R.N. Ravi
Nagaland Governor R.N. Ravi on Tuesday said “unrealistic intransigence of some people, who are unwilling to forsake the politics by gun”, has undermined the Centre’s political initiatives to resolve the Naga issue in the last 24 years.
Mr. Ravi, also the Centre s interlocutor for the Naga peace talks, said in his Republic Day speech that the people of Nagaland have not been able to reap optimum benefit of various progressive government schemes as “some extra constitutional entities in the guise of espousing the Naga national cause” have kept peace and progress at bay.
