The World Civility Day workshops are at 9 a.m. April 6 at the Dean and Barbara White Community Center, 6600 Broadway, Merrillville. The awards dinner is at 6 p.m. at

"Simple, easy, natural. Is that civility? Its something that should be simple, easy, yet were still challenged by it."

Community Civility Counts started as an initiative of the Gary Chamber of Commerce Public Policy Committee and it has expanded to include many partners both locally and nationally.

"Every session, I come to the Statehouse with the goal of working collaboratively to achieve positive results for Hoosiers," said state Rep. Earl Harris Jr., D-East Chicago.
