Their bodies were found in a training area of Fort Bragg on Dec. 2.
Meanwhile, the two victims had been scheduled to appear in civilian courts to face criminal charges in what appear to be unrelated cases.
Army officials previously said the deaths were not a result of unit training, and they told the Associated Press the deaths are being investigated as homicides.
The Army Criminal Investigation Command said on Thursday there was “nothing releasable at this time” about the case.
Court records show both men, Sgt. 1st Class William Lavigne and Army veteran Timothy Dumas, were supposed to appear in court in unrelated cases.
