The Hawk Eye
The Easter Bunny will be making his rounds this weekend, and that means the opening of egg hunting season.
Across the region, egg hunts have been planned by a variety of organizations for area children.
In Lee County, however, Conservation Board staff have not forgotten the grownups.
They have hidden several eggs in the Lee County Conservation Board s main parks: Wilson Lake, Pollmiller, Chatfield, Denning, and the Heron Bend Conservation Area, naturalist Clay Steele announced Friday on Facebook. Almost all are plainly visible from areas people commonly visit or walk.
Inside each egg is a prize, which might be a free cabin rental, a free camping pass, or a packet of butterfly milkweed seeds.

KEOKUK (WGEM) Tourists flocked to Keokuk on Saturday as the city kicked off their 39th annual Bald Eagle Appreciation Days.
While all the usual indoor events were cancelled due to COVID-19 precautions, people from all over still made the journey.
Sylvia Janowski said her family traveled from Iowa City to see the eagles fly and nest in trees along the Mississippi River. I thought it would be fun for the kids, she said. We re from Chicago. We don t see any bald eagles. So, I thought it would be fun to come out and just walk along the river and hopefully spot some.
