Canada needs to boost its clean technology sector

He points to the two Canadians who patented a design for a light bulb, Henry Woodward and Matthew Evans. But two years later, American Thomas Edison bought the patent and has since been credited with the invention. Story continues below advertisement “We haven’t always been the best at supporting organizations to commercialize and to set up a strong, competitive business,” Mr. Nilsen says. “That’s why sometimes some of the great innovations are bought by other countries.”

Cleantech Commons agrees to partnership with Bioenterprise

A new partnership is bringing accelerator services to Cleantech Commons. Cleantech Commons and Bioenterprise, Canada’s Food & Agri-Tech Engine, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding. The Commons’ new 85-acre research park will be home to start-ups and early-stage companies focused on clean, green, low-carbon, and sustainable technologies. Executive Director Martin Yuill says this partnership will better enable them to offer targeted business acceleration services to clients. No feed items available at this time.
