Experts say the trade in illegal bush meat has exploded and believe poachers are stockpiling ivory until sea cargo returns to normal levels. So the launch of a new Wildlife Centre in singapore has come at a good time. Authorities there seized nine tonnes of ivory worth more than 13 million us in 2019. The haul was recently crushed and the process live streamed on the internet. But before they destroyed it, researchers carried out dna testing on the ivory in a new facility designed to help wildlife detectives track down those responsible.
