UNICOMER (OECS) Limited continues to make good on its commitment to provide much needed relief and support to the people of St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG), following the volcanic eruption of La Soufriere, which left many residents abandoned and displaced.

Unicomer (St. Lucia) Limited led the charge immediately following the first eruption, sending emergency supplies to the Unicomer St Vincent staff. Managing Director, Mr. Vincent Gordon stated that, “Following the eruption, we rushed to ensure that the needs of our team members were met, quickly shipping disaster supplies for them and their families. However, we couldn’t stop there. Our Courts brands have been a part of the Kingstown community for years. We felt compelled to act, and solicited extended support from a key sister company in the Caribbean.”
LABOUR is hoping to keep its strong grip on the city’s Nunnery ward in next month’s local elections - an area that has been a stronghold for the party in the last decade. Other parties standing in Nunnery with the hope of prising the large and leafy division out of the control of the Labour Party may have their work cut out in what has proved to be an area of success for the people in red in recent years. Nunnery has been represented by three Labour councillors on Worcester City Council since 2010 with the party’s candidates winning comfortably on several occasions.
