Late night revellers in Macroom have left a trail of destruction in their wake following a midnight party in the town s Fairy Garden recently.
Not content with contravening the COVID guidelines to restrict gatherings in order to counter the spread of the virus, louts lit a fire which burnt part of the picnic table at the site near he town centre, causing a considerable amount of damage.
Municipal District Mayor and long time Tidy Towns activist, Martin Coughlan, told The Corkman that damage estimated at €700 had been caused by the late night bonfire. It s unfortunate that these things happen given that the Fairy Garden was an oasis within a few minutes walk of the town centre.
