Wrexham Council look to Fixed Penalty Notices and new CCTV to clamp down on fly tipping

Those who pay fly tippers to dispose of their waste and fly tippers themselves have been branded “lazy” – with a warning they could soon be caught on camera and prosecuted.
Previously Wrexham Council have issued strong warnings about using people who end up fly tipping waste, promising prosecutions would take place of those involved, however with little or no action taken.
Last April we enquired if any of the new powers from Welsh Government had been taken up, which would allow a Fixed Penalty Notice of £300 (£150 if paid early) for household waste duty of care issues.
