Mayor starts history-making double term by thanking volunteers

PRESTWICH councillor Tim Pickstone saluted the hard work of volunteers as he was elected to serve a second consecutive term as the Mayor of Bury.

BURY Council has marked the one year anniversary of the first case of Covid-19 being discovered in the borough by launching a new film reflecting on the region s pandemic response. With an introduction by Bury Mayor, Cllr Tim Pickstone, and featuring interviews with borough leaders, the short video has been collated using footage filmed throughout the year. The film shows both he response of the NHS in dealing with the emergency situation and continuing to provide care throughout our communities and how key workers like carers, early years and education staff and food service workers have come to the fore.
