THE NEWLY elected mayor of Mold has promised to bring the magic back to the town after the toughest of years. At Mold Town Council s Annual General Meeting on Wednesday evening, councillor Sarah Taylor was formally elected the town s mayor, and councillor Hadyn Jones elected to position of deputy mayor for 2021-22. Cllr Haydn Jones, newly elected deputy mayor of Mold. Cllr Taylor takes over the reigns from Cllr Theresa Carberry, who has been praised by her successor for her efforts during the pandemic. Cllr Taylor said: Theresa s had the most difficult of years during which to be mayor and she s held things together really, really well and steered the council through what s been unprecedented times.
A NEW food store with organic and environmentally friendly practice at its heart has opened in Mold. The Organic Stores has moved from its former Sealand Road base to a new home on Oaktree Business Park on Queens Lane. The store s produce is 100 per cent organic, and offers fresh veg, meats, fish, fruit and nuts. This is as well as spreads jams and sugars, dairy, yogurts and milks and juices and sodas. A LOCAL woman has spoken of her relief at opening a high street salon after fearing she d lose her business during the pandemic. Jade Bartie, 30, was joined by Mold mayor, Cllr Theresa Carberry, on Monday for the opening of her Aesthetics & Beauty by Jade salon on Chester Street in the town centre. The mother-of-one said she s been overwhelmed by the reaction by local people to the town centre s latest edition, but admitted it came close to never happening. I had plans to open the salon this time last year - but the pandemic put pay to that.
