Sheriffs deputies Monday were investigating the weekend death of a 13-year-old Gainesville girl killed in a shooting in southwest Gainesville. Maliyah Godwin was shot just before 10 p.m. Friday in Building A of the Majestic Oaks Apartments complex and died after being taken to a local hospital, according to Lt.
