MH voters narrowly favor both park proposals
Mountain Home voters Tuesday narrowly approved two proposals to use sales tax revenue to improve the city s parks.
Residents were asked to approve or deny two proposed taxes at special election. The first, a temporary 0.5% sales tax, would be used to fund improvements to the city s parks and build a community center at McCabe Park. Voters were also being asked to approve a permanent, 0.25% sales tax that would help fund the ongoing operation of the city s Parks Department.
Unofficial results show both proposals narrowly passing, with residents voting 807-760 in favor of the temporary 0.5% sales tax to build the community center and residents voting 835-737 in favor of adopting the permanent 0.25 sales tax to support the city s parks.
