A former Commissioner for Water Resources in Rivers State and a member of the Rivers State Elders and Leaders Forum, David Briggs, has said Governor Siminalayi Fubara was subtly threatened to accept the resolutions reached during a presidential intervention meeting to resolve the political crisis in the state. He said the document Governor Fubara and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, signed was not a product of a peaceful agreement.

Babachir Lawal, former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), has said that President Bola Tinubu appointed the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Dr. Olayemi Cardoso, with what he described as “patch-patch” Curriculum Vitae (CV). Lawal, who said this while speaking during an interview on Arise News Television on Wednesday said that the new CBN governor has ‘patch-patch CV’ because he was ‘merely’ the Commissioner of Planning in Lagos State, which according to the former SGF, is a very small state out of the 36 states in the country.
The former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, has faulted President Bola Tinubu’s cabinet members, saying that only two or three out of the 46 ministers are competent. According to him, the rest are the President’s cronies. Speaking in an interview on Arise News Television on Wednesday, Lawal said that only the Minister of Work, David Umahi, Minister of Finance, Mr Wale Edu, and partially Minister of Education, Prof. Tahir Mamman, are competent while the rest are Tinubu’s friends, friends’ girlfriends and sister’s and wife’s friends.
