and hello again, everybody, i m tony harris in the cnn newsroom, where anything can happen. a flash flooding nightmare. right now people are trapped inside cars on rain-swollen roads in oklahoma. some are getting rescued, as you see here. others are hoping for help soon. so let s do this. let s get started with our developing story. let s get you to meteorologist jacqui jeras, and jacqui, talk us through this and the system that brought this rain. we have been seening training thunderstorms all morning long. this began about 2:00 in the morning, it s been raining steady ever since with torrential downpours. we have seen as much as 9 inches of rain now in northern parts of oklahoma city. the best news i can tell you, fresh information at this hour, take a look at this radar. it s still rather heavy on the north east side of oklahoma city, but this looks like this is going to be the end the next 30 to 60 minutes of the heavy rainfall. some intermittent spotty showers this afternoon,
other places. so, you know, this will come to a successful conclusion for us. still a lot of work to be done. so, as you heard, security camera footage could help police develop leads in new york. but there are concerns about so many cameras watching us at all times. josh levs has a look at privacy versus protection. josh? it s really striking, tony. when you look at what we are talking about, you see this image and you can watch it yourself on cnn.com. millions of people are looking at the image and what we did is using google street view we can figure out exactly where around times square the image was taken. we can pretty much figure out the restaurant in which that image was taken. we called them and they are not commenting. google street view isn t live but they have images from all over the country that capture what areas are like. looks like this is what you see on the image there.
