TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – No. 14 Florida State Men’s Golf finished the first round of the Folds of Honor Collegiate as the only team under par, shooting 1-under on a cold and windy day at American Dunes Golf Club in Grand Haven, Mich.
“I saw some toughness,” FSU Head Coach Trey Jones said. “Our guys are growing up. It’s an honor to be here at this tournament. To see our guys come out here and compete and show some toughness is a really good thing.”

Three Seminoles ended the first day in the Top 5 on the leaderboard. Junior Brett Roberts is tied for second after carding a 2-under 70, recording six birdies in the process. He began the back nine with a 36 and then got hotter as the round went on, shooting a 34 on the front nine.

The Camden, Maine, native recorded a career low 65 (5-under) to help the Seminoles to a fifth-place start (10-under) at the Mirabel Club. “Cole Anderson is another player who has had a really nice summer and has been looking forward to this season,” FSU Head Coach Trey Jones said. “To lead the team with a 65 in round one…I’m looking forward to seeing how Cole backs that up. PALM CITY, Fla. (Seminoles.com) – In just his second year, Florida State Men’s Golfer Freddie Kjettrup achieved a feat that no other Seminole has accomplished as FSU finished in second place at 20-under (274-285-273) in Tuesday’s final round at the Valspar Collegiate Invitational held at Floridian Golf Club. The native of Aabybro, Denmark, recorded a final-round 64 and shot 13-under (64-72-64) en route to his runner-up finish. Kjettrup becomes the first Seminole to shoot three rounds at 64 or lower in a career, hitting the mark in just his 17th tournament played.
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Seminoles.com) – The Florida State Men’s Golf team wrapped up its successful stay at the Cabo Collegiate Invitational in Los Cabos, Mexico, by shooting 29-under (272-278-273) and placing third following Tuesday’s final round at the Cove Club.
“I’m really proud of our team,” FSU Head Coach Trey Jones said. “Coming back from a disappointing week at the Watersound Invitational, it was great to see how our guys responded to that and to the challenge of playing in one of the top fields in the country, and bouncing back from that.”

Sophomore Frederik Kjettrup strung together another good performance, tying for fifth with an 11-under 202 (68-67-67). The native of Demark shot three consecutive rounds in the 60s to lead the way for Florida State once again. It marks his third Top 5 finish
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Seminoles.com) – Tallahassee native Connor Futrell of the Florida State Men’s Golf team was FSU’s lone winner in match play vs. Arizona on Wednesday at the Stephens Cup, defeating his opponent 2&1 at the Alotian Club in Roland, Ark. The win by Futrell over Jackson Norwich of Arizona moves his record to 3-0-1 in match play competition this season, going 2-0-1 at the Barbara Nicklaus Cup in FSU’s last tournament. Futrell got ahead by as many as three holes on the front nine vs. Norwich, then stayed steady on the back nine. “Conner really wants to leave his legacy at Florida State,” FSU Head Coach Trey Jones said. “Being very close last year to playing in the national championship, he is starting to figure out what is needed to be successful at our level. He is gaining confidence and will use this week to take another step forward.”
