A bill which would reinstate a previous law on COVID-19 sick leave for Philadelphia passed out of a City Council committee on Monday. The bill, sponsored by Councilmember Kendra Brooks, is the third iteration of the law since the pandemic began in 2020. It is meant to protect workers who contract COVID-19 from having to work through illness for fear of losing pay or losing their jobs.
