SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - Savannah City Council met on Thursday.
The Coastal Georgia has been recognized as a Great American Defense Community by the Association of Defense Communities.
The Coastal Georgia Military Affairs Commission announced the recognition at the city council meeting.
Their leadership in Chatham, Liberty and Bryan counties has helped develop community partnerships with the Army and other military services and provide for over 57,000 civilians and families along with 20,000 retirees living in our area.
