Today on The Whiteboard, our NBA team answers three big questions about the hot-shooting Heat, the floundering Suns and Bucks and the defensive chops of Luka Doncic.

Six days into the 2024 National Basketball Association playoffs, 16 teams are on the hunt for a shot at hoisting the Larry O’Brien Trophy as league champions. Although their 2023-24 campaigns are over, the other 14 clubs on the outside looking in are already seeking to improve next season.

The Chicago Bulls haven't drafted all that well the past decade. And when they have, they've moved on from those players fast.

Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey is the NBA Most Improved Player, the league announced Tuesday evening.

Coby White of the Chicago Bulls missed out on the Most Improved Player award after Tyrese Maxey took home the honor.

Tyrese Maxey was sixth in the Most Improved Player voting two years ago, a tribute to the jump he made between his first and second seasons in the NBA. Maxey’s scoring rose for the third consecutive year, and he finished the regular season averaging 25.9 points, 6.2 assists, 3.7 rebounds and 1.0 steals per game — all career bests. It’s not uncommon for players to see their numbers soar when given a new role, but that wasn’t the case with Maxey.

Philadelphia's Tyrese Maxey jumped into the national spotlight this season, becoming an All-Star, leading the 76ers to the playoffs and edging out White for the league award.

Maxey beat out Coby White and Alperen Sengun to win the award.

Tyrese Maxey was named the league’s most improved this season, finishing the regular season averaging 25.9 points, 6.2 assists, 3.7 rebounds and 1.0 steals per game, all career bests.
