The House passed House Bill 929 to the Senate on Tuesday following a 65-33 vote.

One Republican told the House to anticipate a Constitutional Amendment that would see justices appointed to the bench, rather than elected.

A bill introduced Thursday would reduce the amount of land needed to qualify for a landowner preference cow elk tag from 640 acres to 160 acres.

Montana conservation groups, outfitters and guides have joined in support of a bill to modify a piece of legislation nicknamed “bulls for billionaires.”

The case centers on the political activities of Ed Butcher, a former Republican state lawmaker who maintains Legistats.
