you had the same radio yeah, i have the same radio. the coaches, all of the coaches pretty much have it. i had it with me and i was listening, and somebody one of em said one of the security guys said, was that a fire cracker? i heard someone say, that was no fire cracker. aaron knew right away? aaron knew right away. i guess him and chris were on on the way immediately, you know. so then the fire alarm goes off and, you know, we just had a fire alarm earlier in the morning. and i got to tell you, i been teaching 25 years, and in all of that time we worked harder on those drills and on code reds and what all of the codes were this year than any year that we ve ever never been so ready for something? so ready for something, but yet find out you re not ready for nothing. the way it went so fast, we wasn t ready for nothing. but, you know, we were ready, you know. it all happened so fast? fast.

shooting, screaming. we ran into our classrooms and dove in as soon as we closed the door. i don t know who couldn t maker saw, but you heard the shooting and screaming. you and i were looking at videos. it was tragic. you passed by people who had been shot. bodies were just there. did you know immediately what was happening when you heard the pop, pop, pop noise? no. i thought it was like we ve been having a lot of drills lately. they ve been strict. the teachers have been about an active shooter? code reds, code blacks, fire drill, all that. i thought in the beginning, we were doing a fire drill, they were trying to scare us. i heard they did it at another school. they started making noises but it was fake, to see if the drills and all that stuff. so i was like, no, way, but i wasn t going to stand there and wait to see if it was a drill. i just ran. i was so confused. guys, it s a gun. everyone get in the room. we were taking care of each other.
i don t really personally know him, but i think that s what everybody s telling me, too, that he was bullied. that s what i m guessing also, because he was yelling a bunch of things while we were running. what was he yelling? he was yelling stuff like why are you laughing at me, why are you doing this to me, like that. to mr. landsberry or to other students? he was just yelling at us, to everybody. do you happen to know if the shooter had any grudge with the teacher or any other students? i m not sure about that. kyle, does your school practice school shooting drills? we have practiced a bunch of earthquake drills but i m not really familiar with a lot of shooting drills that we were taught that much. but we were taught stuff like code reds and code yellows. so you and your fellow
end up getting terminated over this, they ll be responsible, but not guilty. if we never want this to happen again, the higher ups who gave the orders must pay the price. all this reminds me of one of my favorite movies a few good men. two low-level marines are charged with murder after a controversial disciplinary measure called a code red results in the death of another marine. you want to ask me about code reds on the record, i tell you, i discourage the practice in accordance with the commander s directive. off the record, i tell you it is an invaluable part of close infantry training, and if it happens to go on without my knowledge, so be it. dawson and downey didn t invent code reds nor come up with the idea to discipline willie santiago themselves. turns out as their attorneys would learn they were simply following orders. did lance corporal dawson tell you to give santiago a code red? don t look at him. how? answer the captain s
