A dozen volunteers searched the wooded area around the Boo Williams Sportsplex on Saturday morning.

Some activists pushed boundaries in the manner in which they questioned the way Hampton handled the disappearance of 4-year-old Codi Bigsby.

The four-year-old has been missing from his Hampton home for almost two weeks. His father, Cory Bigsby, is behind bars on unrelated child neglect charges.

Hampton Police Chief Mark Talbot provided the city council with an update Wednesday on the “intense” investigation into the 4-year-old boy's disappearance. However, community members in attendance spoke out for more transparency from law enforcement and support from council members.

The community is spreading information through flyers and even yard signs.

Tensions grew as several speakers accused the mayor, council members and police chief of not doing enough the find the missing 4-year-old.

Water Team Inc. spent hours in the wooded area near Boo Williams Sportsplex in Hampton. They searched for Codi Bigsby and any clues that could lead them to him.

Cory Bigsby, the father of missing 4-year-old Codi Bigsby, has a bond appeal hearing set for the near future.

An AMBER Alert would have activated the Emergency Alert System, blaring a message to cell phones, over the radio, on television and VDOT message boards.

Neighbors at the Buckroe Pointe Apartment Townhomes said their children are concerned for their safety after 4-year-old Codi Bigsby went missing.
