The rocky fire in lake county has grown to nearly the size of San Francisco. It is 27,000 acres. More than 42 square miles and it is 5 contained. 50 buildings have gone up in flames. Half of them homes. Thousands more are threatened. A triple digit temperature, very low humidity. Winds that are helping push this fire through really steep and difficult access type terrain. For some homeowners it is too late for help. Kpix5s andria borba spoke with one woman who lost everything. Reporter as you drive along Morgan Valley road, the blackened hillside becomes overwhelming. There are so many people down there whose houses are just ashes. And everyone we know that lives down there, they have nothing anymore. It is crazy.
