CITC inks pacts with 3 IT giants to enhance digital transformation December 21, 2020

RIYADH The Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) has signed three memoranda of understanding (MoU) in the fields of communications and information technology with major global telecommunications technology providers Ericsson, Nokia, and Huawei.
The MoUs aim to support and enhance CITC’s plans and goals to enable the Kingdom’s digital transformation, and Saudize technologies in accordance with the latest international practices. It will also strengthen the Kingdom’s digital economy and information communication technology talent ecosystem.
The Commission was represented in the signing of the MoU by Deputy Governor for the Corporate Support Sector Ahmed Al-Jarboa, while the three companies were represented by Mathias Johanssons, CEO of Ericsson, Khaled Hussein, director of the Nokia branch in Saudi
Aramco, Cognite form JV for industrial digitalization
DHAHRAN/OSLO, December 21, 2020 Saudi Aramco Development Company, a subsidiary of Aramco, and Norway’s Cognite AS, a leading industrial investment company, have signed an agreement to establish a joint venture (JV) as part of their strategic digitalization partnership. Aramco and Cognite will establish a new company that will focus on digitalization in Saudi Arabia and the broader Mena region. The JV will develop, distribute and deploy end-to-end digital and advanced solutions for customers across industries, including oil and gas, power and utilities, manufacturing and shipping. The solutions will enable the digital transformation of companies through production and yield optimization, predictive maintenance, workforce digitalization, advanced safety measures and a reduced environmental footprint of industrial operations.

DHAHRAN The Saudi Aramco Development Company, a subsidiary of the Saudi Arabian Oil Company, on Monday announced it has signed a joint venture (JV) agreement with Cognite AS (Cognite), a global industrial software company and a majority-owned subsidiary of Aker ASA (Aker), as part of the two companies’ strategic partnership on industrial digitalization and sustainability initiatives.

The film Scales, directed by Shahd Amin, was shown for the first time at the Venice International Film Festival. It was awarded the Verona Film Prize for the most innovative film, and was shown in other international festivals besides being shown inside Saudi Arabia in commercial cinemas.
RIYADH The feature film Scales (Sayidat Al Bahr) will officially represent Saudi Arabia in the upcoming Oscars in the Best International Feature Film category, the Film Commission, the authority to develop the film sector and production environment in Saudi the Kingdom, has announced.
The film was nominated by a specialized committee and will compete against other films from around the world. It will go through several screening stages before making it to the final list chosen by the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, which will be awarding the Oscars. The winner will be announced at the 93rd Academy Awards ceremony to be held on April 25, 2021.
