inconsistencies, that he s all over the place when it comes to what he s saying about the strategy of president trump here. is he helping the president or is he doing more harm legally for him? normally, if you were dealing with a regular client, you d be saying he s doing a lot of harm to a legal strategy but you and i both know this is exactly the trump way that he plays theater. he s creating all these distractions and talking about all these issues so that in the end, he can say, no, i didn t take that position earlier or i didn t really say that so it helps him dodge. he s trying to figure out how to get to the end zone but he doesn t know how to get there so he s playing it by ear so he s letting people like rudy giuliani, foolishly, who s a legal representative of donald trump, he s letting having rudy giuliani go out there and say these things. there s going to be a challenge and i wouldn t want rudy giuliani to be my representative no court to be able to assert my legal posi
to be prepared. his secretary of state didn t know about the summit. the pentagon didn t know. the national security adviser apparently did. so we have to have a coherent strategy. if we don t have a coherent strategy, kim jung-un inks th t has an end game and that is to stay in power. and the will want the answers going o sanctions going off. and thirdly i think the relationship that we have with south korea, that we protect south korea from any kind of bad negotiation. because 25 million people are in a line of direct attack. so that is the trap, that we re not prepared, that it is just a photo-op without any substance. and it is only two months away. that is my concern. let s me ask you about what we don t know at this point.
i think there is a lot of credibility problems with this books. when you look at the policy process what has come out of the white house in the last year it has been mammoth for a first year president. he has done almost everything he said he would do on the campaign trail. that s not reflective of what michael wolff presents. what we have seen is reflective after coherent strategy, policy staff that s competent. and i think the results speak for themselves. as far as i m concerned the michael wolff book is tabloid fodder. how do you respond? we see the open questions about daca and immigration. he still talks about the wall. poolcy priorities he hasn t been able to go to. where do you see us going undfr here? we didn t have much done that the president can take credit for and yes contrast with democrats going in. here is the telling part about michael wolff s book.
players did amounts to disrespecting the national anthem? . that s one of the more interesting topics that is kind of kind of been brought out of this whole conversation. the fact that this is a disrespect towards the military. what s actually disrespectful towards the military and our service members is going into iraq under the false pretense of wmds, destroying a country, thousands of dead americans, millions of displaced people and then we re in afghanistan. there is no effective, coherent strategy. we ve been there for 16 years. to me, that s much more disrespectful. even we re not talking about levels of disrespect. we re just talking about whether or not during the national anthem, people should stand. well, the reason why they think they should stand because if you don t, then are you being disrespectful towards the military. the point the case i m arguing is that what s actually
has there not been a coherent strategy over these 16 years? the strategy has been less than coherent and clear at many points. and right now a part of that strategy has to be more than just military force, it has to include diplomacy and international aide to reconstruct the economy, to make the afghanistan government more capable and less corrupt, more stable and secure. and, so, the president in hollowing out the state department as has been part of his budget, may be doing damage to that strategy in undermining the intelligence community service. he may be also undercutting what our strategy is in afghanistan. it really requires not only military force, but also diplomatic intelligence, economic force as well. i m going to move on. i want to get your thoughts on some other critically important
