The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) expects the mercury to dip more in the next few days before western disturbances come to the rescue around Thursday.

North India will witness a drop in temperature by 3-5 degrees Celsius during next 3 days and the met department has warned of severe cold wave conditions ahead. 

Trees and houses in Mandhol were seen covered in white, while locals preferred to remain in the warm confines of their homes amid the heavy snowfall.

IMD has predicted a dip in temperature in Nort West India and Madhya Pradesh during the next 3-4 days. The minimum temperature is likely to dip by 3-5 degrees celsius from Jan 14 to Jan 17.

As the cold wave in Delhi has subsided for the time being, the IMD has predicted that several NCR regions might receive light rains.

Many of the homeless who were rejected from the Rain Basera due to overcrowding have demanded for more night shelters from the government.

Some private hospitals also witnessed a 9% uptick in stroke patients in the Delhi-NCR region.
