Apex Clean Energy and esaSolar, developers of a proposed 150 MW solar farm in Coldwater and Ovid townships. announced six Coldwater-area programs and organizations as the recipients of the first round of Coldwater Solar Community Grants.
Receiving grants are: Sunrise Rotary Foundation’s Promise Scholarship, Coldwater High School Interact Club, Coldwater schools Lakeland Readers are Leaders program, Branch County Habitat for Humanity, Branch County District Library and Corner Farmers Market.
While the 1,500-acre project is still in the planning stages, the companies launched the program earlier this year to support community organizations making an impact in the following areas: Building Healthy Communities, Economic Development, Environmental Sustainability, and Promoting Education.

COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The first round of Coldwater Solar Community Grants have been awarded to Coldwater-area programs and organizations.
Apex Clean Energy and esaSolar started the program earlier this year to support community organizations making an impact in Building Healthy Communities, Economic Development, Environmental Sustainability and Education Promotion.
The Coldwater Township Sunrise Rotary Foundationâs Promise Scholarship Program will receive a grant to help support Branch County students who are seeking education in healthcare or industrial trades programs.
The Coldwater High School Interact Club will get a grant to help support their downtown mural project.
