Van Eps Named GPAC And NAIA Athlete of the Week Posted Wednesday, April 21, 2021
(Wednesday, April 21; Sioux Center, Iowa) Matthew Van Eps, a senior at Dordt from Prinsburg, Minnesota, has been named the Great Plains Athletic Conference and NAIA National Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week for competitions from April 12-17.
Van Eps won the 800 meters at the Sioux City Relays in a come from behind effort and clocked a personal best 1:50.30. Later in the day Van Eps ran the anchor leg of the 4x400 with Micah Brands, Payton Mauldin and Cole Zevenbergen clocking a time of 3:16.08. His 800 time is tops in the GPAC and second in the NAIA and the 4x400 time is also second in the nation and tops in the GPAC.
