According to various staff and volunteer members, Southern Madison County Ambulance Corps (SOMAC) has recently encountered financial difficulties that would effectively put it out of business by Jan. 1, 2024 if the non-profit agency and volunteer program does not receive alternative funding. SOMAC has supported the Village of Hamilton since 1986 when the town was left.
