Oregon gubernatorial candidate Jessica Gomez visits Pendleton

PENDLETON — Oregon gubernatorial candidate Jessica Gomez stops Sunday, July 18, in Pendleton on a swing through Eastern Oregon. Gomez is a tech entrepreneur from Medford. Her campaign announced she will meet with the Oregon Wheat Growers League and from 2:30-4 p.m. hold a meet and greet with local business leaders and community advocates at Roy Raley Park. According to her campaign information, Gomez would push for implementation of a Universal College Credit Program where all college credits earned at any apprenticeship, community college or public university in Oregon could transfer to any other Oregon university. Gomez also experienced as a homeless teen, according to the campaign, and wants to see a comprehensive solution to Oregon s homelessness problem, including reallocating funds dollars toward a coordinated mental health-public safety infrastructure.

Jan 25, 2021 Mackenzey Infanti, daughter of Ron and Amy Infanti of Wellsville, has been selected as the Kiwanis Student of the Month for January at Southern Local High School. She is ranked 3rd in her graduating class with a 4.396 GPA. Mackenzey has been an Honor Roll student throughout her high school career. She is an active member of National Honor Society, Drama Club, and Varsity Club. She was on the 2019 Fall Homecoming Court and has served as a teacher aid and elementary mentor. She has participated in the College Credit Program at Eastern Gateway Community College. Mackenzey is a three-year letter-winner in volleyball. She has received the Ohio High School Volleyball Coaches’ Association Academic Award, most blocks, and most improved player award.
