St. Louis natives look to change housing for college students and new graduates     ST. LOUIS, MO (KMOV) A new housing development is coming to Mid-town this fall with hopes to upgrade the type of student housing available for St. Louis-area college students and young professionals. The building, called Verve, is set to open in the fall of 2021. It’s located on Lindell Blvd. near St. Louis University. The development will have studio, 1, 2 and 4 room apartments available with underground parking and an outdoor fire pit area. The development comes from Subtext, a St. Louis-based real estate development company. The company was formally called Collegiate Development Group. They recently changed names after expanding to include developments for young professionals, not just for college students. While VERVE is set to open near SLU, Subtext has already opened a development in Columbia near the University of Missouri called TODD.

Boise Ave apartments get new revisions by CDG Development

Collegiate Development Group appears poised to again submit an application for a student housing project at the corner of Boise Ave. and Protest Rd. near Boise State University. The project would go on the site of a vacant former Maverik station and a series of current one-story apartments. CDG first proposed a project on the property in November of 2019. The proposal ultimately went to the Boise City Council, where a split vote left it to Boise Mayor Lauren McLean to break the tie, ultimately deciding against approving the project. Neighbors and other raised concerns over removing the aging affordable housing on the property, noise and traffic issues. In voting no, council president Elaine Clegg and McLean both voiced concern that the previous project didn’t fit the city’s goal of mixed use at the intersection – and only provided student housing.
