Brockton: Pedestrian struck by a car on Ames Street, hospitalized

Shortly before 8 p.m. Tuesday on Ames Street near Intervale Street, a 42-year-old male pedestrian was struck by a vehicle.

Stoughton: 1 killed in crash on Route 24 south on New Year s Eve

STOUGHTON  A Boston man who exited his car after hitting the median barrier and another vehicle on Route 24 was struck and killed shortly before the turn of the year. The Stoughton Fire Department and Massachusetts State Police responded to a reported multi-vehicle crash on the southbound side of Route 24, at Exit 20B, which leads to Route 139, about 11:34 p.m. Thursday. The crash occurred on New Year s Eve just a half-hour before the turn of 2021. On scene, firefighters were directed to one injured person who was near the median barrier. Stoughton fire officials said they had one nonviable patient who died at the scene.

Retiring N H state trooper saluted in Tamworh

TAMWORTH — Members of the State Police, local police officers, New Hampshire National Guard members, court employees, and family and friends gathered outside the State Police Troop E barracks at 1864 White Mountain Highway in Tamworth on Wednesday to salute Trooper First Class Clinton Trussell at the conclusion of his final duty shift as a New Hampshire State Trooper. Trussell joined State Police Troop E on Dec. 31, 2002, and stayed with the barracks for the entirety of his career. He served as a member of the Collision Analysis Reconstruction unit (CAR) and as the troop’s court officer for several years. Many times, he was the troop’s representative to the New Hampshire Troopers Association.
