Citing concerns over visitor experience and safety, city and county elected officials are once again asking the National Park Service to create a temporary timed entry system at Arches National Park. They say it should be implemented no later than September 1st. Local reps say visitor numbers have caused park officials to close the gates at Arches on a near-daily basis since mid-March. Plus, a state law is ending the local mask mandate while Grand County continues to have the highest rate of COVID-19 transmission in Utah.
