The Auraria Executives Council wrote to the Students for a Democratic Society on Thursday, offering $15,000 to be sent to the Red Cross if the protest encampment is taken down by 5 p.m.
Denver police Chief Ron Thomas said Friday that he refused Auraria Campus officials' request to clear pro-Palestine demonstrators from an encampment a second time after police arrested 45 people in a tense sweep of the site last week and said there is currently "no legal way" for officers to dismantle the demonstration.
Pro-Palestine protesters have occupied the campus quad in Denver for days. Chief Ron Thomas said Friday he doesn't think there's a legal way to remove their tents.
