May 13, 2021 Tricia Missos and the entrepreneurship class of Columbiana High School unveiled the new sign provided by Compco and Diamond Steel over the Columbiana Corridor Tuesday morning. The participation from local business with the entrepreneurship class emphasizes a unified goal in the community to enhance public spaces. Other improvements to the Columbiana Corridor will be adding utilities, a fireplace, patio furniture and possible canopy covering. Fireworks moved to Shaker Woods | News, Sports, Jobs

dgarner@mojonews.com COLUMBIANA There will be fireworks in the city on July 4, but not at Firestone Park. Heidi Dattilio, president of the Columbiana Chamber of Commerce, and Lana Wilt, chairwoman of the Fourth of July Committee, came before city council this week to announce plans to relocate the fireworks. Fireworks will be displayed on July 4, which is a Sunday, at Shaker Woods Village. “We just wanted to give the plants some time before ten thousand people trampled through the park,” said Dattilio; referring to the construction throughout Firestone Park. Plans to relocate fireworks only include this year. Dattilio mentioned that moving the fireworks will also help if people are still required to social distance. People can stay by or inside their vehicles and enjoy July 4 festivities.
