Meteors The Coma Berenicids, running now through Saturday, Jan. 23, are the first shower of the year but they are guaranteed to be superseded by what will probably be the best shower of January, if not the year: the Quantarids, a.k.a. as the Bootids, from Friday, Jan. 1 to Tuesday, Jan. 5, peaking on Sunday, Jan. 3 at 120 per hour.
