The East Baton Rouge City-Parish Government provided an update on Wednesday, May 10, about the progress of the Comite River Cleaning Project.

BATON ROUGE - The Army Corps of Engineers says it knew there was going to be a cost increase to complete the Comite Diversion Canal project - it just didnt realize the increase would be so large.

BATON ROUGE - After 59 years, work to clear and snag the Comite River in multiple phases has begun.

Work began in recent weeks, with crews on barges pulling trees and debris out of the river.
