India’s first private space mission is set to launch on November 18, with the Vikram-S rocket scheduled for lift off from Sriharikota.

India's space programme will soar into new skies on Friday when the country's first privately developed rocket, Vikram-S would be launched by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) from its spaceport in Sriharikota, about 115 kms from Chennai.

Skyroot Aerospaces Vikram-S will soar to an altitude of 81 km after its launch from Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota.

Senior Indian Space Research Organisation scientist A K Anil Kumar has been elected as the Vice- President of the International Astronautical Federation IAF, according to ISRO. It Anil Kumars election is a recognition of ISROs space endeavours that help in promoting international collaboration, Bengaluru-headquartered ISRO said in a tweet.
