TIMERGARA: A police constable was martyred when unidentified attackers opened fire on Sacha Forest check-post in the limits of Khall Police Station, sources said on Thursday.
They said that Constable Hussain Khan, a resident of Chino Talash, was performing at the check-post when acme under attack by unknown assailants.
He received multiple bullet injuries and was taken to the Rural Health Centre, Khall, in a critical condition.
He later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. The funeral prayer for the martyred constable was offered at the Timergara Police Lines.
Besides Deputy Commissioner Aun Haidar Gondal, District Police Officer Liaqat Ali Malik, Commandant Dir Task Force, a large number of people attended the funeral prayer. Later, the body was sent to his native village Chino Talash.
