We have a vote i believe at 11 30 today so we should i believe give us time to have a full discussion with our witnesses. Before we turn to todays focus i wanted to say that later today senator murray and i and senators young will introduce legislation to help address the Opioid Crisis. Dr. Collins, head of the National Institute of health predicted that nonaddictive pain killer can be introduced. Our bill would give more flexibility to conduct research. The Committee Plans to hold a markup on the bill as well as other legislation to address the Opioid Crisis as soon as march. I had i have several reports tonight, and id like to start on crime, and i have one of our key doj reforming issues, and id like to update where you are and where well be going with that process as part of the chiefs report, so ill start off with crime and ill just highlight the major issues with violent crimes. Our homicided are at eight for the year. We were at eight this time last year, so we were actually even with last year, which is not a good thing, but its a good thing that were not up. We did have a homicide
