Department of Health is moving to include primary care doctors – the health care professionals with the most intimate knowledge of people’s medical histories and risk factors – in the COVID-19 vaccination effort as the rollout enters a new phase. The thinking is that general practice doctors and pediatricians are best-suited to answer people’s questions about the vaccines, including their safety and effectiveness.
