Supervisor mar . How important is it that diversity be on this committee . Absolutely. The majority of the veterans i serve are veterans of color, low income, disabled, housing and food insecure, Substance Abuse experience, and what im here to say if youre going to put a white dude on the panel, im the one you want. [laughter] since coming back from the military, like, you could find me when were protesting on the streets of oakland. Im eyeball to eyeball with the police. Im standing between the...

15 years trying to wake youth up. Im going to talk about sam if thats ok. I currently, today, have youth on my caseload from sunny dale and the towers. And from the point and from oak dale and double rock and eddy rock, mack block, the chop, and all who hate each other. Neighborhoods who may hate each other but from my personal experience with these, every last one of them knows and respects and trusts sam. And from my conversations with sam, he knows and loves everyone of them. Imagine when a g...

Income, disabled, food insecure, many with Substance Abuse, with former incarceration and were experiencing transformative results. Were shifting bitter crow money johns to warm members of our community and these are the most vulnerable citizens we have here in San Francisco. Ive been working with the senator for the past two years to get this bill passed at the state level. Its currently on the governors desk and its received unanimous approval from the legislature. I also advocated for multipl...

Let me tell you, this centre is long overdue in the Omi Community. [cheers and applause] i want to start by thanking supervisor safaye, who is really, i think the best supervisor district 11 has ever had. Let me tell you, because of his work and advocacy, we are bringing more resources than ever to this community. We saved 21 units just on Mission Street where low income families were facing eviction. He took the leadership, we purchased that property and protected those units for generations to...

Projects, negotiated the ability to go up to one for one parking. This is far less than one for one. We added about 30 plus i think it is 39 spaces for over 137 units. The idea is that some of these families will have cars, that is a reality, and rather than impact the immediate neighborhood, well have them have this option. So all of those things together added to the cost, the time, the construction cost, the construction type, the size of the project, so we so excited about this. Weve gotten ...
