PineRidge Arts Council is holding a Durham wide - Snap a Selfie with Sculpture contest on Instagram #sculpturesofdurham . We are encouraging people to get out of the house, have some fun in Durham, and take selfies with some or all of the over 70 outdoor public works of art in their neighbourhood. From simply visiting a local sculpture for the first time, to planning a grand tour to see all, the timing and choice of locations are open. In COVID times, this is a safe way to set an outdoor goal, socially distance and see the pieces that have been placed for our enjoyment. Some players might like to follow a sculptor s work throughout Durham and some may want to hold a competition with family and friends..

Four generations of this family, living everyday lives, have exposed the biases and prejudice of the time, but also the strength and courage of conviction they had.
