The Madison County Sheriff’s Department kicked off its 52nd Community Meeting Thursday evening, marking the first meeting since COVID-19 cancelled the regular event 18 months ago.
The meeting, which involved the Timbers, O’Keena, Adair and Poplar Corner areas, as well as Gregory’s Chapel and St. John’s Baptist Church, was a Q & A-type session held at Fire Station #10 on Old Bells Road.
“We do community meetings often before COVID, we were doing one or two a month throughout the county,” said Madison County Sheriff John Mehr, who led the event. “We’re trying to start it back up. People have asked for it.
