Church delivers almost 20,000 pounds of food to local non-profits
Hundreds of needy families will be able to put more food on the table due to a labor of love from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
TheChurch of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints donated 19,544 pounds of food to six non profit organizations, including Gastonia s local Salvation Army (Broad Street), SOCKS Crisis Ministry (Belmont) and the Community Relief Organization of Mount Holly.
Across these local areas, 9,843 pounds of food was received. It s a blessing to receive such a large amount of food and we will surely be putting it to good use for the community, said John Mills, the director of the Salvation Army at Broad Street.
